Road Transport<\/h2>
Most common pallets in road transport<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The following pallet types are most commonly used in road transport:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • EUR pallet<\/strong> - 120 * 80 cm<\/li>\n
  • FIN pallet<\/strong> - 120 * 100 cm<\/li>\n
  • Industrial pallet<\/strong> - 120 * 120 cm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    Typical vehicle capacity<\/strong><\/h5>\n

    For a standard semi-trailer, the following figures are common:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Loading length: up to 13.6 loading metres (ldm)<\/strong> up to 13,6 loading metres (ldm)<\/li>\n
    • Capacity:<\/strong> up to 33 EUR pallets or 26 FIN pallets<\/li>\n
    • Payload:<\/strong> up to 24 tonnes<\/li>\n
    • Cargol volume:<\/strong> approx. 85-112 m\u00b3 (depending on trailer type)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      Full truck loads and part loads<\/strong><\/h5>\n

      In road transport, two main types of shipments are used:<\/p>\n

        \n
      • FTL (Full Truck Load)<\/strong> - a full load where the entire truck is dedicated to one customer\u2019s goods<\/li>\n
      • LTL (Less Truck Load)<\/strong> - a part load where the truck carries goods from multiple shippers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        Semi-trailer dimensions and loading options<\/strong><\/h5>\n

        The internal dimensions of a typical semi-trailer are approximately:<\/p>\n

          \n
        • 13,6 \u00d7 2,45 \u00d7 2,7 m<\/strong> (may vary depending on the trailer)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Loading is possible:<\/p>\n

            \n
          • From the rear<\/li>\n
          • From the sides<\/li>\n
          • From the top (through the roof)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
            Shipping documents in road transport<\/strong><\/h5>\n

            Each shipment must be accompanied by the relevant documents:<\/p>\n

              \n
            • Invoice and\/or packing list issued by the shipper<\/li>\n
            • CMR<\/strong> - an international consignment note, usually completed by the carrier at the loading location<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

              Carrier Liability<\/h2>

              When ordering the transport of goods, it is important to understand the carrier\u2019s liability in the event that the goods are damaged or lost during transport.<\/p>\n

              In the event of damage to or loss of the goods, the owner of the goods has the right to file a claim against the carrier. The carrier\u2019s liability is regulated by law, and the customer does not need to pay a separate fee for this coverage. However, carrier liability is subject to certain limitations.<\/p>\n

              Limits of carrier liability by mode of transport<\/strong><\/h5>\n

              Road transport:<\/strong><\/p>\n

                \n
              • Liability is limited to a maximum of 8.33 SDR, approximately EUR 10 per kilogram of gross weight.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                Air transport:<\/strong><\/p>\n

                  \n
                • Liability is limited to a maximum of 19 SDR, approximately EUR 24 per kilogram of gross weight.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  Sea transport:<\/strong><\/p>\n

                    \n
                  • Liability is limited to 2 SDR per kilogram of gross weight, or
                    666.67 SDR per package or unit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                    Important notes regarding carrier liability<\/strong><\/h5>\n
                      \n
                    • Compensation is calculated based on the actual weight of the goods, not the volumetric weight.<\/li>\n
                    • Carrier liability covers only damage caused by the carrier\u2019s fault or negligence.<\/li>\n
                    • The carrier is not liable for damage resulting from circumstances beyond its control (e.g. theft, robbery, force majeure).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                      When is cargo insurance required?<\/strong><\/h5>\n

                      If the value of the goods:<\/strong><\/p>\n

                        \n
                      • exceeds the carrier\u2019s liability limits, or<\/li>\n
                      • you wish to be protected in cases where carrier liability does not apply,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                        we recommend arranging separate all-risk cargo insurance. Cargo insurance provides broader protection and greater peace of mind, especially for higher-value shipments.<\/p>\n
